Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of FYR Macedonia, Fatmir Besimi was in Athens yesterday where he met with the Greek Foreign minister, Nicola Kozias. The cabinet of deputy prime minister Besimi informed today that the meeting discussed the issue of the name dispute, bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic and social domain.
Besimi has not issued any details in relation to what was discussed concerning the issue of the name dispute. “We agreed on the fact that the enlargement of the European Union with Western Balkan brings peace and stability in the region. The Thessaloniki agenda and the declaration of the Foreign minister offer a clear message that there’s hope for the Euro Atlantic path of our country and the region”, underlined deputy PM for European Integration, Fatmir Besimi.
This meeting also praised the agreement between political parties in FYROM with the brokerage of the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn for the solution of the political crisis.
A visit of the Greek Foreign Minister, Kozias is expected to take place at the end of the month in order to discuss measures to build up trust between the two countries. /ibna/
