National coordinator for NATO, Stevo Pendarovski declared today that October 18 and 19 will mark the official start of the process of negotiations for the accession of FYROM in the NATO.
“The process should be concluded in December. In January, the country should sign the protocol. Accession will take place once the member countries ratify the protocol”, Pendarovski said.
Meanwhile, Foreign minister Nikola Dimitrov said that the final decision is in the hands of parliament.
“We did what we had to do. Now, it’s up to parliament to decide”, Dimitrov said adding that accession makes the country safer and brings more economic benefits. /ibna/
