Following intensive debates which lasted several weeks, parliament in FYROM removed today the Attorney General, Marko Zvrlevski.
His removal received 64 votes in favor and no votes against.
VMRO-DPMNE’s lawmakers were not present during the voting in Parliament, because according to this party, the removal of General Attorney Zvrlevski is unlawful and unacceptable for them.
A few hours before the voting, VMRO-DPMNE’s MP, Ilija Dimovski made a last attempt to prevent the voting, but speaker of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi said that the procedure for the removal was legal and was compliant with the rulebook.
Zvrlevski was a protagonist in the so called wiretapping scandal, where he was heard talking to the former chief of secret services and former senior government officials for the election of judges and for judicial processes. /balkaneu.com/
