For several years now, the solution of the name dispute has been a key factor for the country’s accession in the NATO and the EU. This was said by the U.S. ambassador to Skopje, Jess Baily. According to him, the U.S.A. sticks to the decision taken in the NATO’s Bucharest that the accession doors for fYROMacedonia are open once there is an acceptable solution of the issue of the name dispute with Greece.
“Macedonia has the chance to become a NATO member in the near future. I think that this opportunity should be exploited”, underlined the US ambassador on an activity dubbed “Days of NATO”.
The same messages has also been given by EU ambassador, Samuel Zbogar, who has recently declared that the solution of the name dispute with Greece gives way to the country’s Euro Atlantic integration path.
Meanwhile, PM Zoran Zaev considers this as a very important period for the country’s integration path.
“This is the right moment that we need to exploit in order to become NATO members”, Zaev said.
According to the latest exit polls, over 75% of the citizens of fYROMacedonia want the country to become a member of NATO and EU. … / IBNA
