FYROM bans chicken and other products from Bulgaria

FYR Macedonia has ordered the banning of import of chicken and eggs from Bulgaria, due to the bird flu. Government veterinary agency said that it has introduced this measure in order to prevent the spreading of this virus in the country.

The government agency has sent instructions to farms near the Bulgarian border on the measures that must be put in order to be protected by this virus.

Bulgarian authorities announced at the start of this week the presence of bird flu in a farm near the coast city of Burgas. After this decision, government of FYROM decided to temporarily ban chicken meat and other produces from the neighboring country. /ibna/
