FYR Macedonia has registered a high trade deficit during 2014. According to the figures issued by the State Authority of Statistics, trade deficit amounted to 2,4 billion USD. Last year, trade volume was 12 billion USD, out of which, 5 billion USD worth of exports and 7,2 billion USD worth of imports.
According to statistics, last year, deficit grew by 15% compared to 2013, while import went up by 10%.
Meanwhile, the country has mainly exported metals, ferronickel, iron products, steel and clothes. Imports mainly consisted of electricity and oil.
Based on the data, FYR Macedonia mainly trades with Germany, Greece, Great Britain, and Italy. Its biggest exporter in the region is Serbia and its biggest importer is Kosovo. /ibna/
