Members of the European agency for the management of EU’s external borders, FRONTEX, will be present on the border between FYROM and Greece. This was decided in yesterday’s meeting of OSCE in Belgrade, which saw the presence of the Macedonian Foreign minister, Nikola Poposki.
Based on the agreement that was reached, as of next week, members of FRONTEX will be present on the border between Greece and FYROM to help with the registration of refugees. After the OSCE meeting, minister Poposki declared that the arrival of FRONTEX on the border is a good signal in overcoming tension on the border.
“The arrival of FRONTEX on the border is a good signal. After a long wait, I believe that this will help in overcoming tension on the border and I believe that we will manage to improve cooperation with Greek authorities, because FRONTEX presence will assist for the registration and further procedures with the refugees”, minister Poposki declared. /ibna/
