EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn declared today after negotiating several hours in Skopje with leaders of the four main political parties, that a deal has been reached to hold early general elections in April 2016.
“The sides have agreed on holding fresh early elections in April 2016 and the details as to who will organize the elections and who will be the head of government, will be discussed in the next meeting which will be held in Brussels during next week”, declared Hahn after the meeting held in the EU office in Skopje.
Hahn declared that the meeting has been constructive and according to him, until the elections are held, the electoral lists must be cleansed of all faults and an atmosphere for free and democratic elections should be enabled.
