Prestigious international organization “The Heritage Foundation” in cooperation with “Wall Street Journal” has published the recent figures on the index of the Freedom of Commerce for the 2016 report of Economic Freedom, which is soon expected to come out and which ranks 177 countries of the world.

In the Heritage Foundation’s analysis, the countries that have received high scores in the Freedom of Commerce index are likely to have higher GNP per capital, a low level of poverty and a cleaner environment.

Albania ranks 33rd as far as Freedom of Commerce is concerned, leaving behind countries of the region and EU member countries such as Croatia and Greece.

Starting from 2006, the Freedom of Commerce index for Albania has seen a growth above the world average.

2013 and 2014 figures show that our country has ranked in the first 40 places for the first time on a global level.

The 33th place where Albania has recently been ranked, is the best ranking of all times for our country.

The Economic Freedom index is closely related to the different fees of a country which enable or not facilities in exports and imports. /ibna/
