The agreement for motor insurance between Kosovo and Serbia will start to be applied next week on 12 August.
This was achieved during yesterday’s meeting in Brussels between delegations of Kosovo and Serbia, brokered by the European Union.
During this meeting, both sides reported for the finalization of technical preparations and a good start of this agreement based on the implementation plan.
The sides said that they will apply this agreement, which has been facilitated and guaranteed by the European Union.
This agreement contributes to the improvement of free movement for citizens of both countries and is in compliance with European standards for free movement.
Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri says that this is good news for the citizens and the agreement was reached with the participation of all sides in the dialogue.
“I can assure you that both countries reported that all preparations were made for 12 August. This is good news for the citizens, because they can travel to Serbia or throughout Serbia with the insurance policy that they possess”, Tahiri said.
Tahiri also said that the citizens can use the same insurance policy to travel to FYROM too.
This agreement enables citizens from Kosovo to travel in the Serb territory without the need to pay extra charges for their cars. This agreement was planned to be effected on 1 August, but the date was postponed. /ibna/
