The agreement on car registration plates reached on 14 September of this year has facilitated movement between Kosovo and Serbia.

Dren Zeka, advisor of the minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri says that the agreement is based on reciprocity and with this, citizens of Kosovo save time.

“To cross the border from Kosovo to Serbia, citizens of Kosovo must no longer remove their car plates and replace them with other ones with the writing “test” on them. We also have the principle of reciprocity. Serbia’s plates will have the state symbols covered the same as Kosovo plates, even though before, they were not subject to such procedure”, Zeka says.

Zeka says that this agreement furthers the expansion of the sovereignty of Kosovo, as based on it, the illegal plates in the northern communes will be removed. /
