Pressure, deadlock, loss of composure and fear attribute government sources to the “cycles” of the New Democracy, regarding the channeling from the part of the main opposition party, of channeling rumors on the forthcoming meeting between Mr Tsipras with Mr Mitsotakis for the electoral law and constitutional review.
Commenting on the “leak” of “cycles” of ND that “Mr Tsipras will lose with the same electoral law he won twice”, the same sources speak of “heroic expressions form spaghetti Westerns” and stress: “because as it seems, there will be several confrontation before Mr Mitsotakis wins an election, maybe, in the meantime, we should think in terms of what is beneficial for the country and what changes are ripe for the political system?”.
Specifically, with respect to the meetings of the Prime Minister with the political leaders (“and for those who are losing their temper”), government sources say:
First, that “the prime minister will have contacts this week with political leaders, concerning the electoral law and the constitutional revision”.
Second, that “the official announcements will be tomorrow (Monday), as was agreed in the relevant contacts – despite the fact that some, burdened with anxiety, started the parapolitics today”. “We understand the pressure, the stalemate and fears of ‘ND cicles'”, they comment.
Third, the same sources indicate that “the ‘circles’ of the main opposition channel, anonymously, to the media several heroic expressions of spaghetti westerns (” Mr. Tsipras will lose the same electoral law he won twice”). We answer tot hem: because, apparently, it will be several confrontations before Mr Mitsotakis wins an election, whether, in the meantime, we should think in terms of what is beneficial for the country and what changes are ripe for the political system?”.
The reply from ND
With two tweets replied the director of the ND press office Makarios Lazaridis on the leaks from the prime minister’s press office.
“1/2: Regarding the leaks (Maximus herein): Who can forget your vile manipulation in the first meeting of the two leaders?
2/2: At the time, when the meeting had started you gave a leak, ‘what the Prime Minister says to the president of New Democracy'”, Mr Lazaridis posted on his personal account in Twitter.
