Former US president, Bill Clinton and former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright have arrived in Kosovo today to take part in activities being held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the end of NATO bombings on Serbia.
The role of the two US officials was decisive for NATO’s intervention 20 years ago, which gave way to Kosovo’s independence.
Former president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga and Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli welcomed former president Clinton in Pristina’s airport.
Foreign minister Pacolli wrote on social media that “our freedom and independence would have not been possible without the man who is visiting our Republic today”.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Haradinaj posted a photo of former president Clinton and wrote: “Welcome back, President Clinton”.
2019 has been named the NATO year in Kosovo to mark the 20th anniversary of its intervention there. /ibna/
