The meeting was attended by academics, executives and representatives of all the relevant Directorates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and there was an itemized list of sectors and policies that will be affected by the UK’s exit from the European Union.
There was discussion on more specific issues of procedure on the effects from the activation of Article 50 on the start of negotiations and became a first exchange of views on how it could affect the realization of Britain’s exit from the European Union in various fields such as defence and security, the functioning of the internal market, the composition of the Europarliament and the EU budget. After the recording of the positions expressed in the current Working Group, in the near future will follow an enlarged Ministerial Meeting, under the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, in which will participate representatives from all ministries.
