Foreign Ministers of Cyprus and Slovenia agree to strengthen bilateral relations
The strengthening of bilateral relations between Cyprus and Slovenia was confirmed at their meeting by Foreign Ministers of Slovenia Miro Cerar and Cyprus, Nicos Christodoulides, held in Ljubljana, on the sidelines of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, to Slovenia.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed bilateral and regional issues, as well as the future of the EU and the forthcoming European elections. Nicos Christodoulides and Miro Cerar signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations, which strengthens the two countries' relations on multiple levels.

Nicos Christodoulides briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue, while views on issues of common interest were exchanged. The determination of the two sides to exchange expertise on the part of the Republic of Cyprus on regional issues was also stressed, focusing on the Middle East region and more broadly on the Eastern Mediterranean./IBNA
