Skopje, 13 June
The issue of resolving the name dispute with Greece, among others, has also been the topic of the meeting between the Foreign Minister of FYR Macedonia, Nikola Popovski and UNO intermediary for the solution of this matter, Mathew Nimic.
Minister Popovski stressed that in the meeting with Nimic, he has underlined the commitment of the country to resolve the name dispute. “Our belief has been proved that in this contest we have a very clear situation where one party continuously meets the obligations undertaken and is committed to overcoming the dispute, and on the other hand, there’s the other party which is repeatedly infringing the obligations and fails to overcome the dispute” said Minister Popovski.
Minister Popovski meeting with mediator Nimic was held in the framework of his visit in New York on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the accession of FYROM as a member of UNO. Yesterday, the chief of diplomacy Popovski also met the General Secretary of UNO, Ban Ki Moon. /ibna/
