FYROM’s Foreign minister, Nikola Dimitrov, who was the chief negotiator in the talks about the country’s name, says that the deal that was reached is not the ideal one, but it protects the identity and the dignity of his people. Dimitrov posted on Facebook that the agreement that was reached removes any dilemma that existed on the identity and it enables the country to be integrated in the EU and NATO.
“Is this the ideal deal? Of course not. But, let us not forget that every successful agreement needs to satisfy the interests of both sides. We did our best, judging by the circumstances that we were in, therefore I will do everything to protect this agreement”, Dimitrov underlined.
FYROM’s Foreign minister said that today he will travel to Berlin to inform German authorities that his country has achieved a historical success and that the country should be supported in its EU and NATO integration path. /ibna/
