Ambassadors of the EU and USA have called for a solution of the political crisis in FYROM.

EU ambassador, Aivo Orav said that the country is facing a serious political crisis in relation to the rule of law and according to him, the amnesty granted by president George Ivanov mined all the efforts for the fight against corruption.

“At the moment, your country is facing a serious political crisis in relation to the rule of law, bearing in mind the numerous efforts for the fight against corruption on a central and local level. And this is important for the progress of the country. Unfortunately, the latest decision of president Ivanov for the amnesty mines these efforts”, said EU ambassador Orav.

US ambassador, Jess Baily says that efforts are being made to put an end to the political crisis.

“We’re in contact with the heads of political parties and we are working with the European Union and domestic players to put an end to the political crisis. This is what we are doing. We want to see Macedonia as a prosperous country, democratic and integrated in the European Atlantic family and I believe that most people in this country want this to happen”, Baily said.

Dutch embassy in Skopje, has published today a letter of the Dutch Foreign Minister, Bert Koenders, which has been sent to the leaders of four political parties and the president of the country, George Ivanov.

This letter states that Holland, which holds the EU presidency, calls on all political players to find a solution to overcome the political crisis and implement the obligations that stem from the Przino Agreement, achieved last year with the brokerage of EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.

“The full implementation of the Agreement that you signed together and the urgent reforms are crucial for the European Atlantic future of your country. As a result, it is vital for your country to have stability and prosperity and you must find a way out of the current crisis”, says the letter of the head of the Dutch diplomacy, adding that the conditions for free elections have not been met. /balkeneu.com/
