First polls in Turkey – Erdogan close to victory but still unsure

Three different polls in Turkey show that until the presidential elections on June 24, there will be anxiety about whether or not Recep Tayyip Erdogan will win. In the first round of the presidential elections, the winner should get 51%.

Some polls show the easy victory of the AKP-MHP ruling alliance, others show that the opposition with Kemal Kilicdaroglu’s CHP, pro-Kurdish HDP with its jailed leader Selahattin Demirtas, and Iyi Parti of nationalist Meral Aksener will make things hard for Erdogan. However, the big difference gives the Turkish president edge over them meaning that he could beat them already from the first round.
