The new US ambassador to Pristina, Greg Delawie, declared today that he will do everything he can to help Kosovo in fighting corruption.

In his address during the seminar dubbed “Legal aspects in the fight against corruption”, Delawie said that fight against corruption is a challenge for every government.

“Fight against corruption is a difficult endeavor, but such fight is necessary if we want a functional and democratic state”.

Delawie considered this kind of activity as very important.

“A tough program against corruption offers an environment which enables fight against corruption. The cost of being corrupt will be very high. This seminar handles the ways how your offices will change the situation”, Delawie said during his address.

The ambassador said that corruption is hindering democratic and economic development of Kosovo, it hinders investments, encourages migration and lowers confidence in public institutions. /ibna/
