German coach Felix Magath and Croatian football champions Dinamo Zagreb seem to have got stuck into negotiations over possible taking over the team.
Daily newspaper Jutarnji List believes the German coach with his 3.5 million Euro yearly earnings was too expensive for the Croatian club. Felix Magath even travelled to Eindhoven to watch Dinamo’s defeat against PSV in the Europa League last month and arrived in Zagreb this week, but it seems the job would not be realized, despite the fact that he even met Zagreb’s mayor Milan Bandic.
According to Jutarnji List, Tomislav Ivkovic, the current coach of Lokomotiva Zagreb, could take over Dinamo’s bench in January. Foreign coaches Laszlo Boloni and Zdenek Zeman were earlier mentioned as coaches that Dinamo also considers as possible solutions.
Zoran Mamic actually leads Dinamo but he made it clear his choice is to return to the position of sports director at the club in January.
