The farmers and breeders who met on Sunday in Platykampos decided to respond to the general call issued a few days ago by the farmers and breeders of Crete to conduct a nationwide rally of the industry on November 18 in Athens, in Syntagma Square.
Those who took part in the meeting unanimously said “yes” to the participation in the rally in Athens and discussed the organisational details of the descent.
In particular, the joint meeting was convened by committees of farmers and breeders from Central Greece and representatives from Northern Greece, Epirus, Peloponnese, Central Greece, Pieria and Thessaly, while the same decision took the Local Coordination Committee of the Farmers of Larissa, which represents 32 cooperatives in the prefect.
The descent to Athens is expected to be massive, with the presence of agricultural machinery and tractors, and probably animals as well.
Next Tuesday moreover, July 10, takes place in Larissa a large agricultural rally, co-organised by the cooperatives of the prefect of Larisa, young farmers, four livestock federations (pig farmers, ranchers, cattle farmers, free-range), the GCG, the agriculturist club of Larissa and the TOEV of Pinios and Larissa.
