Farmers in FYR Macedonia have declared that they will block all the roads leading in and out of Skopje if the Ministry of Agriculture doesn’t pay subsidies. The Association of Farmers has requested an answer within 24 hours, otherwise, they threaten that the protest will escalate.
“Rest assured that the City of Skopje will be paralyzed completely. We will bring our cattle to Skopje and all of our machinery”, said Hevzi Breza of the Association of Farmers.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture has said that this matter is a responsibility of the Ministry of Finance. “I hope that all farmers will receive their subsidies until 30 June. First, we must overcome some legal barriers, because we don’t have a new government and this makes it impossible to form the subsidies”, said the minister of Finance, Cyril Minoski. /balkaneu.com/
