On the occasion of the sanctification of Mother Teresa, Albania’s National Day was celebrated on Monday in the premises of Albania’s Pavilion at Expo Milano.
The opening ceremony of this important day for Albania at Expo Milano 2015 was held in the presence of the Minister of Economy, Tourism, Trade and Enterprise, Mr. Arben Ahmetaj, minister of Culture, Mrs. Mirela Kumbaro as part of the Albanian Delegation at the EXPO and with the support of Mr. Genti Beqiri, General Director for Albania in the Expo.
In his speech, minister Ahmetaj congratulated Albania’s participation in this event of such dimensions and stressed the fact that this activity was a very good opportunity to promote Albania’s traditions, cultural values and culinary traditions.
During this event, a number of activities were held for the participants, in order to know more on the culture, tradition and Albanian folklore and among them was a stall with typical Albanian food, menus and recipes and also video projections of the activities of Albania and other associations in Italy.
The presentation of traditional clothes from different areas of Albania, was accompanied with dancers and expert groups who performed typical Albanian dances.
This event marked an important turn in Albania’s presentation in international fairs of this format, thus enabling a better knowledge on the culture, tradition and Albanian culinary art. /ibna/
