Up until January 1, 2014, the population of FYR Macedonia was 2.065.000 people, indicate the data provided by the European Statistics (EUROSTAT) office, which published today new data on the number of people that live in EU member countries and in aspiring countries.
The data indicate that compared to a year ago, the number of the population has gone up by 30 thousand.
As far as birth rate is concerned, EUROSTAT says that in 2013, the birth rate was 11.2 babies per 1 thousand residents, while the death rate was 9.3 people per 1 thousand residents.
Based on EUROSTAT calculations, the natural increase of the population of FYROM is 1.9%.
On a European level, until January 1, 2014, the population in all 28 member countries is 507.4 million, 80 thousand more than a year ago.
A significant increase was also registered by the number of people who decided to live in EU countries and this figure is 700 thousand. /ibna/
