Albania is one of the European countries with the highest share of energy from renewable sources.
Such fact is confirmed by the recent figures issued by the European Institute of Statistics (Eurostat), according to which, along with Iceland, it represents the highest percentages of this index, with 69.4% and 72.6% respectively, while in other countries, this percentage is lower.
According to experts, the use of clean energy in Albania is high due to the fact that the country relies 100% on hydro power plants.
Meanwhile, in the European Union, this percentage is only 17, twice as high as in 2014.
The EU’s objective until 2020 is to produce 20% of the energy through renewable sources and 27% until 2030. /balkaneu.com/
