European Union calls for violence to be avoided during the elections

Through its delegation accredited in Albania, the European Union calls for a quiet electoral process and for cases of violence during the electoral campaign to be avoided.

During a press release, the European Union delegation in Tirana stated that it’s closely following the electoral process.

“Amongst the European and international standards that we expect to see implemented is the prevention of violence, in accordance with the expectations of people, in order for the elections to be held in a quiet and peaceful climate. We call upon all Albanian people to behave according to this standard and we expect from political parties to issue strict guidelines to their members and supporters about this”, states the press release of the EU. /ibna/
