The European Parliament approved today the resolution for the European integration process of Kosovo.
The approval of the resolution received 403 votes in favor, 130 against and 140 abstains. The resolution contains clear demands for the strengthening and the speeding up of the process of European integration of Kosovo, while the resolution has also been hailed by minister of Integration, Bekim Collaku.
“I would like to express my utmost gratitude for the European Parliament which has clearly expressed its readiness to offer its consent to the eventual proposal of the European Commission for the liberalization of visas and has invited the European Commission to do this as soon as possible”, Collaku declared.
Collaku also expressed the need for more contacts between Kosovo and the EU.
During yesterday’s discussion and the voting that the European Parliament did today, the Stabilization and Association Agreement and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia were considered as steps in which Kosovo has made progress.
According to Collaku, this resolution will strengthen stability in the region and will increase the EU credibility. /ibna/
