There must be tangible results, especially in the implementation of the judicial reform, the vetting of judges and prosecutors and the fight against corruption and organized crime.
This was the message addressed to Albanian authorities during the 8th meeting of the Stability and Association Agreement committee between Albania and the EU.
The meeting pointed out the most important developments of last year in the domain of the rule of law, reform in the public administration, commerce, economic development, agriculture and fishing, industry, social policies, transport, energy and environment, etc.
Beyond the main five priorities, the European Commission stressed that there are also other important issues which must be handled, such as the increasing number of Albanian asylum seekers in the EU countries.
The European Commission also reminded Albanian authorities that regional cooperation and good neighboring relations are a crucial part of Albania’s progress in its path toward EU integration. /balkaneu.com/
