The European Commission has postponed the publication of the progress report on Albania, but also on other candidate member countries for at least a week.
This decision was announced by the spokesman of this institution, Margaritis Skinas, following an informal meeting of the European Commission.
Skinas warned that the postponement relates to the refugee crisis, without issuing any exact dates for the publication.
“It’s true that the publication of these reports always takes place in this period of the year. As a commission, we believe that due to events of the recent weeks, it’s more important to focus on the solution of the refugee crisis and we’re doing exactly this. This is more important for the moment”, Skinas said.
Skinas said that a meeting will be held on Thursday to discuss this topic and then, continue with the progress report.
“The date for the publication of the progress report is not carved on stone”, spokesman Skinas said. /ibna/
