The European Commission has committed over 84 thousand Euros in the form of aid for those who were affected by floods in the past two months in FYR Macedonia, which caused significant material damages.
This was confirmed today through a press release issued by the European Commission delegation in Skopje. The Commission says that this aid was secured through the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund of the Red Cross.
“The aid will be used to distribute food, toiletries, clothes and blankets. The fund will benefit around one thousand households or four thousand people”, declared the EU office in Skopje.
According to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund, over 100 thousand citizens were struck by the floods in the past two months in FYROM. Albania was another country which benefited 100 thousand Euros worth of aid by the European Commission. /ibna/
