To EUR 5.575 bn increased the maturities of the State to individuals in March, from EUR 5.405 bn in February.
If one adds to this the pending tax returns of EUR 1,099 bn (from EUR 1,079 bn in February) then the total amount stands at EUR 6.67 bn, vindicating those who argue that as long as the landscape in the negotiations for the release of the tranche remains cloudy, the government is “doing savings” in the repayment of debts.
Champions in debt remain the Funds and hospitals. Specifically, according to data on the progress of general government figures released by the Finance Ministry, the debts of the Social Security Funds amounted in March to EUR 2.876 bn, against EUR 2.931 bn in February.
The hospital arrears amounted to EUR 1.146 bn, against EUR 1,092 bn last month.
Following that are arrears to other legal persons with at EUR 540 mln and the local government with EUR 358 mln.
