New growth recorded last April the total overdue obligations of the government to individuals.
The overdue debts increased to EUR 4.132 bn from EUR 3.737bn in late March. The outstanding tax refunds amounted to EUR 692 mil at the end of March compared to the EUR 688 mil last March.
That is, overall maturities of the government to third parties amounted to EUR 4.82 bn in April compared to EUR 4.42 bn in March, up by EUR 400 mln in just one month.
According to data published by the General Accounting Office of the State, EUR 2.165 bn owe the Social Insurance Organisations, of which EOPYY owes EUR 1,515 bn and the The Civil Servants’ Welfare Fund another EUR 400 mln. Hospitals owe EUR 949 mil and local governments EUR 304 mln.
