Deputy PM for European integration of FYR Macedonia, Fatmir Besimi declared that the European Union is demanding the resturn of political dialogue in the country and a legal and institutional solution for the wiretapping scandal and the “Putch” case, which relates to the lawsuit against opposition leader, Zoran Zaev for allegedly collaborating with secret services.
Deputy PM Besimi continues his visit to Brussels, where he has held meetings with the new secretary general of the European External Action Services (EEAS), Alain Le Roy and other EU officials.
“EU is careful following the events in Macedonia and that is happening is not helping European integration. This situation is also having a great impact in the development of the country and is affecting human rights. As far as political dialogue and a constructive political environment is concerned, EU officials say that this must happen and that sides must start dialogue”, declared deputy PM Besimi.
Besimi has also unveiled Brussels’ proposal for intermediacy in the process of negotiations between the two largest parties VMRO-DPMNE and Macedonian Social Democratic Union (SDSM).
“Europe has offered its help by proposing the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn for involvement in the process of political dialogue and in finding a solution. This way, a proposal has been made for three MEPs, Eduard Kukan, Richard Howitt and Ivo Vajgl to be involved in the process of dialogue between the two parliamentary groups of VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM”, declared deputy PM Fatmir Besimi. /ibna/
