Terrorism and violent extremism are joint challenges for the EU and Western Balkans and they can be fought effectively through close cooperation.
Kosovo is an important partner of Europol in further strengthening strategic cooperation with the EU.
This was said by the general secretary of the European External Action Service (EEAS) along with EU coordinator for the Fight Against Terrorism, Gilles de Kerchove, following a meeting held in Pristina with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
“Terrorism, radicalism and violent extremism continue to pose a threat for the security of the EU and Western Balkans. On a regional level, coordination between relevant countries of Western Balkans and other key partners is crucial and this has been facilitated by the Western Balkans Incentive for the Combat of Terrorism. The incentive aims at coordinating international and regional efforts in the fight against terrorism”, Serrano said. /balkaneu.com/
