Brussels praises the steps undertaken by the political class in Kosovo, especially the voting in parliament of EULEX mandate and the special court on war crimes.

EU Enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fule made these comments during today’s visit in Kosovo. He participated in the meeting of the National Committee for European Integration.

Present in this meeting were also high leaders of the state and the majority of political leaders. Speaking in this meeting, Mr. Fule has conveyed several messages for the state of Kosovo.

He commended the work of the political spectrum in Kosovo for the voting of the EULEX mandate and Special Court.

“I’d like to commend the political maturity shown by the state of Kosovo in voting for the continuation of EULEX mandate and formation of the Special Court. These were good steps toward the European Union”, said Fule.

Commissioner Fule also talked about the next parliamentary  elections. He appealed for the next winners of these elections to be further committed in the talks between Kosovo and Serbia and to support EULEX.

Mr. Fule has also considered the finalization of negotiations for SAA as successful.

President of the country, Atifete Jahjaga declared during this meeting that the youth of Kosovo deserves to be part of Europe.

“The citizens and Kosovo do not endanger anybody, they deserve to be part of Europe”, said Jahjaga.

The most critical person during this meeting was the head of LDK, Isa Mustafa. He considered EU’s decision not to grant Kosovo the visa free regime as unfair.

“The process of the liberalization of visas is unfair, because the citizens of Kosovo must not remain isolated”, said Mustafa.

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj said that integration of Kosovo in the European Union and NATO is the objective of AAK.

Haradinaj too expressed his concern about the isolation of the citizens of Kosovo. He said that he hopes that Kosovo’s citizens will soon benefit from the visa free regime. Mimoza Kusari, vice chairman of the New Kosovo Alliance, said that her party supports the EU integration process. /ibna/
