The European Union office in Kosovo has declared that yesterday’s ruling of the Constitutional Court on the Association of Serb Communes must be respected and that the Statute of this association must be drafted at once.
In a statement released today, this office says that it has taken into consideration the ruling of the Constitutional Court which relates to the assessment of the principles for the establishment of the Association.
“The Constitutional Court decided that the Association of Serb Communes will be established based on the First Agreement, in line with the Constitution. We expect all sides to respect this decision and for the Statute to be drafted as soon as possible”, the EU declared.
Yesterday’s decision of the Constitutional Court stated that the general principles and other elements of the agreement for the establishment of the Association, are not entirely consistent with the Constitution, based on article 3 and based on the provisions for the rights of communities in the Constitution of Kosovo. /ibna/
