Kosovo’s justice system is not focused on fighting high level corruption and organized crime.
This is the finding of the report drafted by three experts of the European Union last September, in an attempt to evaluate Kosovo’s capacities in fighting these phenomena.
This document is considered to be for internal use and not accessible for the public. The findings of the experts focus on the lack of the convergence of the country’s laws with the laws of the European Union, with the challenges in investigation and judiciary procedures, the lack of professionalism among prosecutors and judges and the lack of independence in the system.
The report has been drafted by the three experts, Maurizio Varanese, Theo Byl and Camelia Bogdan/balkaneu.com/
