The integration of the countries of Western Balkan in the European Union and the problem with illegal emigrants have been the main topics of the meeting of the foreign ministers of CEI member countries taking place today in Ohrid.
Foreign Minister of FYROM, Nikola Poposki, who is the host of the meeting, said that with his counterparts, he shared his stance that the region has joint objectives for the integration in the European family. “We have agreed that this collaboration in the framework of CEI can be strengthened on both a local level and a European integration level. We have jointly agreed for projects and challenges. One of the issues that we are facing is that of illegal emigrants. The European Union must consider our challenges, especially the recent crisis of illegal emigrants”, Poposki declared.
General Secretary of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Michael Linhard said that FYR Macedonia has successfully chaired CEI, working with many important issues. He said that the issue of illegal emigrants will be examined in different CEI and EU levels.
The participants in this meeting have agreed through a declaration that all countries of Western Balkan have a future in the European Union. /ibna/
