EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn, declared that the registrations made public by the Macedonian opposition must be seriously investigated by institutions, in spite of their source.
“Regardless of the source of these registrations, every potential abuse which is discovered through their content, must be investigated and adequate measures must be taken. Especially if fundamental rights such as the rule of law and division of power have been violated. At a time when confidence on the institutions is very low, all public personalities must be responsible with their actions”, declared EU Commissioner Hahn.
Hahn made these comments in the European Parliament session, which is discussing the resolution for the EU integration advancement process.
Debates were held last night in the European Parliament about the draft-resolution proposed by MEP Ivo Vajgl, who is also a rapporteur of the European Parliament on FYROM. /ibna/
