The European Union has no better instrument besides enlargement, not only to prove its values, but also to increase the impact of global policies.

If the EU doesn’t expand with the Western Balkan countries, this would increase Russia’s influence and ISIS’ elements.

This was declared by the minister of European Integration, Bekim Collaku in a meeting held in Pristina dubbed “EU Expansion, How does Europe see us”.

Collaku said that he’s aware that the EU faces different crises such as the one with refugees and the growth of the number of right wing parties, but said that the European Union has faced with crises before, but continued with the expansion.

In this meeting organized by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society, said that if the EU doesn’t predict any enlargement with the countries of Western Balkan, then there’s a risk that Russia and elements relating to ISIS increase their influence.

Collaku also said that the current crisis in the EU doesn’t favor any aspiring countries, but said that this process has not yet been completed by the EU.

Corina Stratulat of the European Center for Policies said that the EU Enlargement Process has differed from previous years and that now it has become a complex process.

He said that the crisis with the refugees has made this process difficult for member countries.

Meanwhile, Fisnik Korenica of the Group for Political and Legal Studies said that the EU member countries are important for Kosovo, because Kosovo’s integration depends on their policies. /ibna/
