European Union (EU) has urged for a solution to be found on the issue of the barricade located on Iber river bridge.

The EU has also warned sides not to follow unilateral steps, which according to the cabinet of Baroness Catherine Ashton, will not contribute toward the normalization and security.

A day after the process near this bridge, Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman of the Senior Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy and Security, Catherine Ashton, has considered every act of violence as unacceptable. Kocijancic has warned the sides to be careful about their actions.

“Every act of violence is unacceptable. A solution must be found together in order to respect previous agreements, including the freedom of movement. Unilateral steps do not contribute toward the normalization and security”, said Kocijancic.

Sunday’s protest in the southern part of Mitrovica led to the injury of 21 people, 13 police officers and the beating of three journalists. /ibna/
