The EU ambassador to Tirana, Romana Vlahutin has urged Albanian citizens not to abandon their country to seek asylum in Europe.
In a forum on public security held in Lezha, Vlahutin said that Albania needs to achieve standards which can be compared with the countries of the European Union.
“Albania doesn’t need to go to Europe because it is already in Europe’s map. Asylum is not for Albanians, but for those people who have suffered from countries such as Syria and Afghanistan. We would like to help you to achieve standards regarding human safety. Albania is part of Europe, but we only want you to achieve the EU standards”, Vlahutin said. /ibna/
