There are still terrorists in the under design security zone in northern Syria, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday before the ruling Justice and Development Party’s parliamentary group.
The Turkish President has made it known that there are still terrorists in the under design safe zone, and that the terrorists have not yet been eliminated. These terrorist groups, from the border of the security zone, are organizing attacks against Turkish forces, Erdogan noted.
“We will not be spectators in this situation. We will do what is necessary as we did before. Turkey will continue its fight until the last terrorist in Turkey, Syria and Iraq is eliminated”, Erdogan said.
The Turkish President in his speech criticized the US attitude towards Turkey over Russia’s purchase of S-400 missile systems. “The interconnection of the S-400s we have purchased from Russia with the F-35s, and most importantly the sanctions and other issues, makes no sense”, Erdogan said. “I see such insistence, as a new pretext, on the hostility directed at our country”, he added.
Erdogan noted that Turkey’s doors are open to countries “that are ready to talk, negotiate and reconcile with Turkey on an equal footing”.
US troops and YPG / PYD terrorists are jointly patrolling the security zone in northern Syria, the Turkish president said.
“Although they have decided to withdraw, how can we explain the patrols in the region that the US is conducting with this terrorist organization? They were not included in our agreement”, Recep Tayyip Erdogan added./ibna
