Erdogan: “Turkey has no plans involving the territory, sovereignty or interests of any other country”

“Turkey will make no concessions on what rightfully belongs to her”

Turkey will take what it is hers in the Mediterranean, as well as in the Aegean and the Black Sea, the Turkish president said on Wednesday, speaking at a ceremony celebrating the Turkish military victory nearly a millennium ago, on the occasion of the 949th anniversary of the Manzikert battle in Eastern Turkey.

“Turkey has no plans involving the territory, sovereignty or interests of any other country, but will never make concessions on what rightfully belongs to her”, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey calls on all parties to avoid any mistakes that could lead to their destruction, Erdogan added, speaking amid disagreements with Greece about Turkey’s sovereign rights over maritime territory and energy resources.

“Those who do not even deserve the Byzantine heritage are now committing injustices and pirate moves on the basis of European support, which shows that they have failed to learn from history”, Erdogan said, referring to Greece.

Concluding on the Greek-Turkish dispute, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the only solution to the dispute laid in dialogue and negotiations, urging Athens to respect Turkey’s rights. /ibna
