Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed and hosted at the presidential mansion in Ankara, executives of 30 American companies doing business in the country.
The Washington-Ankara economic relations were not discussed at the meeting. Erdogan said: “I do not wish to see business relations and activities being disrupted by the political climate between the U.S. and Turkey.”
Moreover, he added that “the strategic relationship between the two countries can be further improved by investment and trade.”
The meeting was quite unexpected since, until recently, the president of Turkey was urging the peopple of the country to boycott American products, after the recent crisis caused by the case of (the American) pastor Andrew Brunson…. / IBNA
