Erdogan met with the Jewish lobby in the US
There has been much talk whether Barack Obama will meet with Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Washington or not.
According to the White House, the two men will have an informal meeting.
The Turkish President however had a very important meeting in the US that will likely affect future developments in the Middle East. In St. Regis hotel in Washington, the president of Turkey welcomed 12 representatives of Jewish organizations in the US, among them the president of AIPAC Robert Cohen!
Among the guests of the Turkish president was the director of «Anti Defamation League (ADL) Abraham Foxman, the chairman of the «B’nai B’rith» Council Peter Perlman, the former president of the «Conference of Presidents» Richard Stone, the vice president of the «Conference of Presidents» Malcolm Hoenlein, the vice president of the «World Jewish Congress» Robert Singer, the president of AIPAC Robert Cohen, the deputy Director of ADL Keneth Jacobson and other seven major officials of Jewish organizations in the United States.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, also attended the meeting. The later is the son-in-law of the Turkish president.
In the meeting they discussed the terrorist attacks and threats, the relations with the Jews and Israel, the US-Turkey relations, the Palestine and the Turkey-EU relations.
The meeting of Erdogan with members of the Jewish lobby is a clear validation that the Israel-Turkey relations are normalized rapidly and this normalization is expected to be formalized shortly.
Today, Erdogan will be a guest of Vrookings Institute, where he will make an important speech on developments in his country and in the Middle East. His presence in this important institute is considered to have been promoted by many lobbies operating in the US.
