For advanced cooperation on Greek-Russian relations through the construction on Greek soil of a russian gas pipeline, which will contribute significantly to the new Greek government’s negotiations with the European Union, at a time when the former is being treated with incredible bias and the country “as a second-rate half-colony”, speaks the Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy (PAPEN), Panagiotis Lafazanis.

The minister spoke to the newspaper “Avgi” on Sunday for a new, promising and historic opportunity of a thorough cooperation between Russia and Greece, through agreements for the pipeline and more, whereas the forthcoming Putin-Tsipras meeting can be an important station.

At the same time, he reaffirms that the privatisations through segmetation in the energy sector “are over” and announces the government-PPC cooperation for the reconstruction of the enterprise collaboration by streamlining operations, more efficient production-services organisation, reduction of contract work, hiring new staff and independence from large private interests.

He also announced the drafting of an overall design in the coming months aiming at substantially reducing energy prices for all consumers, with axes: supply of cheaper raw materials, control of markets, changes in RAE responsibilities, reconstruction- more efficient operation of energy public enterprises, cancellation of privileges of private interests.

Finally, Lafazanis assures that environmental protection and sustainable development are critical for the government and are non-negotiable priorities, fully compatible with the production reconstruction of the country.
