The Department of Public Administration in Albania is working in order for all public institutions to have electronic files for their employees and the central register of personnel.
Minister of Innovation and Public Administration, Milena Harito, says that this project is one of the priorities to launch the talks between Albania and EU.
“The reason why the EU pays so much attention to this reform relates to the fact that this is one of the five priorities of the negotiations with the EU. In order for the Albanian state to function, public administration must be based on meritocracy”, Mrs. Harito says.
Currently, the files of the ministry employees have been inserted in the system. After this, the system will connect to the civil registry, social securities and taxation directorate.
The EU has constantly insisted on a serious reform in the public administration in Albania, as a key element to launch negotiations. /ibna/
