Speaker of Parliament, Trajko Veljanovski officially decreed todaythe holding of the early parliamentary elections on June 5. This morning, Veljanovski signed the decision for the holding of the elections after the dissolution of parliament ten days ago.
The decision has been sent to the State Election Commission, as one of the most competent institutions for the organization of elections.
Veljanovski said that all political parties involved in the electoral process must contribute in order for the elections to be held in a quiet and democratic atmosphere and that all sides exert their right of vote on June 5.
The opposition has warned the boycott of the elections, as according to it, the necessary criteria have not been met. The opposition demanded the adjustment of the voters’ list, reform in the media and a number of other conditions.
The holding of the elections is announced at a time when massive protests are being held by civil society and opposition against the decision of the president of the country, George Ivanov to pardon the politicians involved in criminal acts and corruption. /balkaneu.com/
